The concept “SMART” is well-known in goal setting process. It is important to follow and apply the SMART rules to have powerful goals.
There are different variations of what the concept SMART means, but I introduced a new and more comprehensive concept which is MASTER including the letter “E”. it stands for “Exciting”.
When the goal is exciting, it will give you the fuel and energy to go ahead to reach it even if you are not in good mode. This new concept “MASTER” includes:
M Measurable Goals |
A Attainable Goals |
S Specific Goals |
T Timed Goal |
E Excited Goals |
R Relevant Goals |
Be sure to write your MASTER Goal simply in a short sentence, and to begin it with “I will” or “I am”, “I have”, but not “I want to” or “I would like or might”.
As an example: “My income will double by the end of this year”. This goal has the motivation and power in itself to be achieved.
While the following example: “My income might double by the end of this year”. Or “I would like to double my income by the end of this year”. This goal lacks the passion to be achieved and include an excuse for not achievement.
